Join AVID Australia in Perth from 22-23 July for the 2019 Perth Path, our mid-year professional learning event for schools in Western Australia. Perth Path will be held at Baldivis Secondary College with five strands available to participants.

Perth Path offers AVID schools in Western Australia the opportunity to educate their staff in AVID’s fundamental professional learning strategies, mid-year. Over the course of a two-day professional learning program, new and existing AVID teachers are immersed in a series of interactive workshops introducing them to the knowledge, skills and teaching strategies that are helping over 2,000,000 AVID students succeed each year across the USA and Australia.

  • Cost per participant: $390 (+ GST). Register more than 20 participants to receive a $30 discount for each additional registration. See the registration section.

Registration Instructions

Registering for the AVID Australia Perth Path 2019 is simple. The AVID coordinator or a nominated representative is responsible for submitting the registration form for all staff members attending Perth Path. Registrations are to be submitted via our online registration form.

Please follow the following steps:

Complete the Perth Path registration form, below:

Enter your school details, your contact details and finance contact information. Click on the yellow ‘add entry’ button to add a new participant. Please specify the strand preferences (you must include two preferences for each participant), an email address and food allergies for each participant. Ensure each participant’s email address has been entered correctly. All Strand related communication and event updates will be sent to each participant.

What happens next?

Your finance contact will be issued with an invoice after Perth Path. Please read about our refund policy in the FAQs.

Saving your progress in the registration form

You can save your progress and return to the registration page to complete your school’s registration later. Once you save your draft, a link will be sent to your email address which you can access later. Please note that the link will only last for 30 days and that you will have to submit your full entry before the registration deadline closes. We don’t have access to any of your registration details until you click the “submit” button.

Adding or substituting registrations

What do you do if you have already submitted your school’s registration form and you need to add a teacher to your school’s registration or substitute one registrant for another?

It’s simple, just submit another form and tick either the “new” button for additional registrants or the “replacement” button for substitute registrations. Please note: Only licensed AVID schools in Western Australia are eligible to register for Perth Path. Please Note:

The program is subject to change. Participants will be notified of changes to the program via email.

Strands

Strands require a minimum number of participants to run. Once a strand has been filled it may not be possible to add further participants to that particular strand. Therefore, we ask that each participant nominate two strand preferences on their registration form.

Every effort will be made to place participants in their first strand preference, however, room capacity will limit the number of strand participants.

Conversely, if a strand does not meet the minimum quota we will not be able to offer that strand. In such a case, participants will be notified and offered the chance to change their strand preferences.

Our advice: register early to secure your preferred strand.

  • Content Area Writing: A Schoolwide Approach
  • Essential Skills for Year 11 & 12
  • Digital Teaching & Learning
  • Primary Maths
  • Science 1

FAQs

Is my registration transferable?

Yes, your school can substitute someone in your place. Click on the ‘Registration’ section to see how you can substitute your registration. For further information  please contact AVID.Events@vu.edu.au.

Can I update my registration information?

If you need to update your registration information please contact AVID.Events@vu.edu.au.

What is the refund policy?

A full refund will be issued if you need to cancel your registration 14 days before the event. A 50% refund will be available if you cancel your registration up to two days prior to Perth Path. We are unable to provide refunds for cancellations less than two days prior to the event.

When will I receive my eLearning notification?

There will be no eLearning requirements for the 2019 Perth Path.
