Task guiding prompts

‘Finding your voice’ is not necessarily about speaking. Finding your voice is about giving full expression to your true self – holding nothing back. It could be about finally letting go of insecurities to chase or create something important to you. It could be about finding clarity of life direction and setting out goals to achieve it.

Finding your voice is about acting on your dreams, values, ideas and identity.

Think about

  •  Who are the people who most inspire you and why?
  • What are the issues in your community, school or personal circumstances?
  • How have you overcome any challenges?
  • How are you addressing the challenges in front of you?
  • How are you changing your circumstances or the circumstances of someone else around you?
  • Does anything stop you from pursuing your dreams?
  • What skills do you need to achieve your goals?

Note these questions are designed to be a prompt for your initial drafting and planning only.  You do not need to answer/respond to these directly in your video.

Final checklist before you upload your entry

  • Your video is no more than 2 minutes long.
  • Your video has been uploaded as an MP3 file, and you’ve included a link to the file in the form, below.
  • You have addressed the task using the prompts mentioned above.
  • You have obtained permission from a parent/guardian to enter and have uploaded the Student Speaker Competition Declaration Form.

The winner and runners-up will be notified by 31 August 2018.

Good Luck!
