Thank you for your interest in the AVID Student Speaker Competition.

The 2023 AVID Australia Student Speaker Competition invites all students at AVID schools to share their AVID inspiration story.

Whether through written word in an essay, poem, short story, or impassioned speech; or through a video or short film; song/rap; poster or work of art, students are encouraged to respond to one of the prompts below and share their AVID inspiration experience.

The winner will have the opportunity to deliver their story live at AVID Summer Institute, and will receive return travel to Melbourne and accommodation for the student and a parent or guardian (if from outside Melbourne).

How to Enter

Students will be required to complete and submit this Entry Form.

Eligibility

Students will need to be a current student at an AVID School.

Requirements

All submissions must be original and clearly the students’ own work.

Judging Criteria

Judging criteria includes elements for originality, creativity, communication and production.

Important Dates

All submissions are due by 5 pm, 16 October 2023.

All entrants will be notified of the outcome of the competition by 5 pm, 20 October 2023.
