WA AVID Student Success Path

This two day immersive professional learning experience will be invaluable for teachers of any subject area, particularly those who are new to the AVID system, and for those who would like to refresh their understanding of AVID strategies.  Participants will:

• gain an understanding of how skills development, and tertiary and career-readiness can be supported in all subject areas;
• learn AVID methodologies and WICOR strategies such as goalsetting, focused note-taking, organisation, and time management;
• understand how to incorporate these skills into all classes and subject areas across the secondary school
• receive the Student Success Resource Book and catering.

This professional learning will be delivered by local leading classroom practitioners who have been trained by AVID Australia to deliver this strand. The content will be customised for the Western Australian context and participants will have the opportunity to practise using AVID strategies.
