Dear AVID Schools,
AVID Australia is committed to the health and safety of our personal and professional communities. We are closely monitoring COVID-19 in accordance with state/territory and departmental directives and the impact this may have on delivering professional learning safely.
If it is unsafe to proceed with any of our planned professional learning events, we will communicate this requirement as soon as we know, and will work with you to ensure that your professional learning is either rescheduled or that a credit can be applied toward a future professional learning event in 2020 or 2021.
Equally, if your school is unable to proceed with a planned AVID professional learning event due to a COVID-19 incident, please contact us as soon as possible and we will work with you to reschedule or provide a credit, as above.
This is a rapidly evolving situation and our goal is to confirm your professional learning event two weeks in advance. However, we understand that there may be situations when either you or we need to postpone professional learning at short notice. We will process each situation on a case-by-case basis.
If any of your teachers are unable to attend professional learning due to travel restrictions or personal concerns about health and safety, AVID Australia will waive any cancellation or processing fees and provide a credit for a future training or professional learning event. This guidelines will continue to be updated in response to changing conditions. Together, we will each continue to monitor developments related to COVID-19 and will assess the need to reschedule events as circumstances dictate.
We value your care for each other, collaboration, patience, and flexibility. If you have questions, please contact avidaustralia@vu.edu.au.
