AVID Australia assists AVID schools in identifying funding opportunities available across Australia and within individual states. This list is maintained as a central resource that AVID schools can refer to throughout the year.

Grant Supports

We provide grant writing and application support to all AVID schools.

These supports include:

  • Guidance and examples of successful applications
  • Grant editing and proofreading
  • Coordination of combined applications with other AVID schools.

Australia-wide

National Science Week School Grants

The Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA), with funding assistance from the Australian Government, provides grants for school-initiated National Science Week activities. These grants are available to all Australian schools (preschools to senior secondary) who complete a valid application.

Applications close Friday 22 April 2023.

Real School Grants Program 2022

A grant of AUD $5000 is offered annually to one school and/or school group/committee. To apply for the Real School Grant Program, you will need to write a long form description (maximum 650 words) on what your school would do with the allocated grant, and how it will benefit your school and/or community.

Applications close Friday 30 September 2022.

Schools Plus Grants

Over 4000 schools across Australia are eligible for support through one of four Schools Plus grant programs.

New South Wales

Aurizon Community Giving

Aurizon are looking for new opportunities to make a difference in the communities they live and work in. Since 2011, they have been delivering more than products and commodities, giving back to local communities, supporting over 480 community groups in the areas of health and wellbeing, community safety, environment and education.

Small grants program for regional NSW

This small grants program supports the recovery and wellbeing of children and young people living in regional NSW. The program will help eligible applicants deliver projects to promote social inclusion and build community connections for regional children and youth aged 0-24 years.

Queensland

Aurizon Community Giving

Aurizon are looking for new opportunities to make a difference in the communities they live and work in. Since 2011, they have been delivering more than products and commodities, giving back to local communities, supporting over 480 community groups in the areas of health and wellbeing, community safety, environment and education.

Victoria

Victorian Schools Garden Program

The VSGP Awards recognise and celebrate the gardening achievements of students and their school communities in existing and newly established gardens. Now in their 45th year, the Awards have a long and proud history of bringing gardening skills and the joy of learning to school- aged children.

Applications close Friday 9 September 2022.

The Andrews Foundation

Accepts applications from kindergartens, schools (primary and secondary) for projects of building or equipment and innovative programs that will assist students.

These programs must be locally based and be designed to benefit a substantial number of students. The usual limit for such a Grant is $20,000.00.

Applicants are required to hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.

Victorian School Building Authority

The Victorian School Building Authority offer a variety of supports for school building and maintenance.
