Marsden State High School has been named Australia’s secondary school of the year and its principal Andrew Peach, the country’s top public school principal at the Australian Education Awards for 2020.
Marsden State High School (a finalist in 9 out of 25 categories) picked up five trophies on the night, winning the categories of Secondary School of the Year (Government), Best Professional Learning Program, School Principal of the Year (Government), and bagging an excellence award in the categories of Teachers Mutual Bank Teacher of the Year (Secondary School) and Best School Strategic Plan.
According to Andrew Peach, in an interview celebrating the achievements with ABC breakfast radio “A school is only as good as the people involved, and from a Marsden perspective our staff and wider community provide those opportunities for our kids to be successful”.
