AVID Australia schools, Mount Rowan Secondary College and Mount Clear College, have been recognised with nominations in the 2022 Victorian Education Excellence Awards.

Congratulations to Seona Murnane, Principal of Mount Rowan Secondary College, and the Ed Earth team at Mount Clear College for being announced as finalists in the Victorian Government awards that celebrate inspirational teachers, principals, business managers and education support staff.

Nominated for the Colin Simpson Outstanding Secondary Principal award, Seona Murnane has been recognised for her inspirational leadership of the college, overseeing improvements that focus upon the learning and wellbeing needs of students and wider college community.

A champion for and an early adopter of many department initiatives, Seona is a highly regarded and respected role model in her own school community, and across the network and Central Highlands Area.

The Earth Ed team at Mount Clear College responded to the challenges of the pandemic and developed 52 online VCE masterclasses to engage and support high-ability students. The team’s award nomination recognises the incredible effort undertaken to develop and deliver this rigorous resource.

The timely and accessible VCE support provided by the Earth Ed team’s online masterclass series, helped hundreds of high-ability students to achieve excellence during some of the most challenging periods of learning.

The award winners will be announced on 21 October 2022.
