Check your setup

ElevateXP uses a range of websites and apps to provide a rich learning experience.

Each ElevateXP participant is required to access their Community of Practice from their own individual computer. Due to the interactive and collaborative nature of the courses, participants are asked to not share devices, even if accessing the same Community of Practice from the same school.

To get the most from ElevateXP, we encourage all participants to test their IT to minimise tech-hiccups during the interactive sessions.

Determine where you will be located when you participate in ElevateXP. Will you log in from home or your school site? We recommend a quiet space and that you use headphones and two screens if possible.

It is critical that all participants can access:

Your school’s firewall may block critical websites. If you will be participating in ElevateXP from your school, discuss the ElevateXP Technology Checklist with your school’s IT department, and ensure that you can access the listed domains. If you are unable to access one or more of the above links or are aware that you have restricted access to any of these sites, please take steps to get full access prior to ElevateXP.

Each Community of Practice is enhanced with additional, unique sites and tools.

Access and complete the ElevateXP Technology Checklist prior to the start of ElevateXP to prepare yourself and your tech for your particular Community of Practice.

Complete the Pre-Work Using Canvas course

Use the Pre-Work Using Canvas course to familiarise yourself with Canvas and get ready for ElevateXP.

Once you have activated your AVID Australia Canvas account, use the Dashboard to access the ElevateXP – Pre-Work – Using Canvas course.

This short course will introduce you to Canvas and help you set up your equipment for the best ElevateXP experience.

We recommend that all users complete this course before accessing any other ElevateXP material.

Accessing MyAVID

MyAVID is an online repository accessible to participants in licensed AVID schools, that provides 40+ years of AVID teaching and learning resources.

MyAVID will be used throughout ElevateXP, so if you are in a licensed AVID school, please create a MyAVID login if you do not have one or test your existing MyAVID login.

Please create a MyAVID login if you do not have one, or test your existing MyAVID login.

If needed, consult the MyAVID Guide 2021 on how to create a MyAVID login.

Participants who are not in licensed AVID schools will receive further information regarding accessing resources for their chosen Community of Practice
