Educators from across Australia convened at AVID Australia's inaugural ElevateXP for two days of online professional learning and community building.

Building upon the success of DigitalXP in 2021, ElevateXP offered educators the opportunity to engage in rich learning communities, led by experienced AVID Staff Developers on AVID’s eLearning platform.

Teachers and leaders from 11 Australian schools participated across the two Communities of Practice on offer – Student Success and Primary Implementation.

Student Success

For the first time in AVID Australia’s history, Student Success was open to educators in both AVID and non-AVID schools to attend. As a NESA accredited course, Student Success allowed participants in New South Wales to complete 12 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority Accredited PD.

Really enjoyed the useful strategies and digital tools that I can’t wait to activate in all my classes.

Primary Implementation

As an introductory Community of Practice for those new to AVID, Primary Implementation provided a solid foundation in the AVID schoolwide system and WICOR strategies for all that attended.

I now understand what AVID is, and the mission that I need to undertake to ensure success of students in my classroom. WICOR is fantastic, as are the many strategies available.

It was fantastic to observe such high levels of engagement across the two days of ElevateXP and to hear the stories and read the feedback that came out of the communities.

AVID Australia would like to thank all participants and Staff Developers who made the event such a success!
